Work description
A complex renovation project that aims to make the historic offices of the United Nations in Geneva safe and sustainable
The Palais des Nations (Palace of Nations) is the historic headquarters in Geneva of the United Nations, the largest in Europe by area (100,000sqm). The complex is one of the most active diplomatic centers in the world, hosting about 12,000 meetings, 75,000 delegates and 100,000 visitors annually, and is located in the Parc de l'Ariana, one of the largest parks in the city.
CSC Construzioni is executing part of the Strategic Heritage Plan, a renovation program approved by the United Nations General Assembly to make historic buildings, built before 1950, safer and more sustainable.
The project embraces the complete renovation, with adaptation of security and accessibility aspects, modernization of conference support systems, optimization of space and improvement of energy efficiency. The work is being carried out without interrupting the center's operations and in full respect of the Palais des Nations' historical heritage.
