19/11/2019
CSC Costruzioni is participating in the renovation of the historic buildings of the United Nations Palais des Nations in Geneva, a project with a total value of about 270 million Swiss francs, further strengthening its presence in French-speaking Switzerland.
CSC Costruzioni, in a joint venture with CMB Società Cooperativa Muratori e Braccianti di Carpi and Italiana Costruzioni S.p.A., will carry out the renovation of the United Nations center, second in size only to the world headquarters in New York. The historic buildings will be completely renovated, prioritizing the preservation of the historic heritage of the Palais des Nations, modernizing the main building and conference support system, and improving aspects of work safety and accessibility. The work, which will be carried out with the center in full operation, involves optimizing office space, improving energy efficiency and removing harmful materials used in the center's construction.
Built between 1929 and 1936 for the League of Nations, the forerunner of the United Nations, the Palais des Nations is one of the world's busiest diplomatic centers, with 34 conference rooms, hosting about 12,000 meetings a year for more than 75,000 delegates and 100,000 visitors.
