EP28 Gentilino–Lamone: the project enters a new operational phase

The end of 2025 marks a particularly significant milestone for the EP28 – Lot 202 project, the largest extraordinary road maintenance intervention carried out in the Canton of Ticino over the past 30 years. This achievement has been made possible thanks to the commitment, expertise, and strong sense of responsibility of the people at CSC Costruzioni, who lead the consortium in charge of the works.

During 2025, phases 3A and 3B of the north/south carriageway were completed, from km 30+120 to km 26+950, covering a total length of 3,170 meters and involving the installation of 55,000 tonnes of asphalt. This is a remarkable result, achieved while ensuring the full operational continuity of the N2 motorway at all times, despite its high traffic volumes and significant operational complexity.

The year 2026 will mark the beginning of an even more intense phase of the project, with the launch of phases 4A and 4B. The completion of the north/south carriageway up to km 23+950 (approximately 3,000 meters) is planned, along with the start of works on the south/north carriageway, in both the flat sections and the central median. The estimated quantities for the year amount to 74,000 tonnes, confirming the progressive expansion of the construction site and the need for careful and coordinated planning.

In 2027, the projected volumes will reach approximately 71,000 tonnes, consolidating the project’s production peaks and confirming its strategic importance within the region’s infrastructure landscape. All activities are carried out with constant attention to safety, quality, and sustainability, including the use of technical solutions and materials designed to reduce environmental impact.

These results are the outcome of genuine teamwork, cross-functional collaboration, and the daily responsibility assumed by each individual.
